The idea for this site popped into existence while on a monthly dinner date with my wonderful friend who conveniently finds my dessert obsession endearing.
She said “there should be a way to look up restaurants in Boston by their desserts.”
I went searching and didn’t find one, so I decided to create it!
“Dessert First Search” is an homage to
Depth First Search, a classic Computer Science algorithm 😉

Prairie Fire has welcomed the Fall with seasonal changes to their menu – swapping out Blackberries for Pear and saying “goodbye for now” to their Corn Ricotta cake while saying “hello” to an Apple Cake. Porto has said goodbye to their Lemon Cream Sorbetto and Plum Butter Cake, shortening their dessert menu for the Fall season.

Hello Bar ‘Cino, the newest addition to Dessert First Search!
Today’s changes were indicative of the beginning of Fall! Prairie Fire change the sorbet flavor served with their Corn & Ricotta cake from Blueberry to Cherry and replaced their Semifreddo with a Chocolate Cake. Willow & Ivy replaced their Strawberry Shortcake with Caramelized Apples and added a 7th dessert option: Lindt Pumpkin Spice Truffle Affogato. La Morra increased dessert prices by $0.25, at least on the takeout menu.

Verified the dessert menus today. Prairie Fire was the only tracked restaurant to introduce a new dessert. They have removed “Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse” and added “Coffee Semifreddo.” Apart from that, two restaurants (Porto and Tres Gatos) increased their dessert prices by $1 each.
